Social networking was the hot topic at the Enterprise 2.0 conference in Boston, where speakers and attendees discussed how Twitter and other social tools are creeping into enterprise business strategies.
Major publicly-traded companies like Allstate Insurance, JetBlue airlines and Humana health services have all launched social computing initiatives to make better use of internal knowledge resources and keep in closer contact with consumers and their needs. But, for the most part, these efforts remain outside of IT and core network strategies.
