Contributing to the silver medal was our survey respondents' high estimation of the ASA's authentication support -- nearly 80% of those who took part in the survey gave the product at least four out of five stars for authentication. The ASA also scored high among respondents for the variety of applications and devices covered, as well as its integration ability and compatibility with existing platforms and applications.
Comments from users ranged from positive to critical. One respondent extolled the virtues of the ASA, stating: "We use our ASA in a variety of ways: for remote users, to monitor Wi-Fi traffic, to create DMZs for our B2B users, and more. It is an integral part of our total connectivity solution, and we are quite happy with its performance." Another survey respondent indicated trouble using the appliance because of its client-centric nature, however: "Client-centric devices can be difficult to administer. Each potential client must have a client installed to use the device."
